Find the answers to the most frequently asked questions about T2 HD.

 

  • What type of SIM card does T2 HD use? Open or Close

    T2 HD is only compatible with nano SIM cards. Please note that using any other incompatible or modified SIM cards can damage the SIM card, its data and the phone itself. Any such damage is not covered by the warranty.

  • How do I take out the SIM card tray? Open or Close

    The SIM card tray is designed to prevent water from getting inside the phone, which is why it fits rather tightly in its slot. On the outside of the SIM card tray, there is a small opening where you can insert a fingernail or the SIM card tray opener that came with your phone. If you are using the SIM card tray opener, push it downwards first and then gently pull out the SIM card tray.

  • How do I change the ringtone? Open or Close

    Changing the ringtone is really easy:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the “Device” section, touch “Sound”.
    4. Touch “Phone ringtone”.
    5. Select the desired ringtone by touching it and touch “OK”.
  • How do I change the notification sound? Open or Close

    In the phone’s system settings, you can change the default notification sound of your phone:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the “Device” section, touch “Sound”.
    4. Touch “Default notification sound”.
    5. Select the desired sound by touching it and touch “OK”.

     

    Individual apps also allow you to change their respective notification sounds. This way you can have different notification sounds for SMS messages, e-mail, Facebook notifications, etc.

    Depending on the app in question, you can access its own sound settings by doing the following:

    1. Open the app first.
    2. To access the app’s settings, touch either the Menu key (=) in the bottom left corner of the screen, OR the Navigation drawer iconin the top left corner (if there is one), OR the “Overflow” icon(if there is one).
    3. Touch “Settings”.
  • How do I switch to Silent mode? Open or Close

    To switch to Silent mode, do any of the following:

    1. Press and hold the Power key until an options menu appears on the screen.
    2. Touch the “Silent mode” icon .

    OR

    Press repeatedly the “Volume down” key until the “Silent mode” icon appears.

  • Can I remotely locate my phone if I lose or misplace it? Open or Close

    Yes, you can, provided you are signed in with your Google Account on your phone and have enabled Android Device Manager. Android Device Manager can help you find, lock and erase your phone.

    To turn on Android Device Manager:

    1. On the All Apps screen, touch the “Google Settings” icon .
    2. Touch “Android Device Manager”.
    3. Tick off “Remotely locate this device” and “Allow remote lock and erase” to enable these features.

     

    To remotely find your device, do the following:

    1. On the web, go to www.google.com/android/devicemanager.
    2. Sign into your Google Account.
    3. When your device is found, you’ll see the device’s approximate location on a map and when it was last online.
    4. You can select the following options:
      • Ring - rings your device at full volume for 5 minutes, even if it’s set to silent or vibrate.
      • Lock - locks your device with a new password.
      • Erase - permanently deletes all of your data on the phone.

     

    If your phone is offline, Android Device Manager won’t be able to ring, lock, or erase the phone until there’s a mobile data or Wi-Fi connection. Select any of the options in advance, and the action will be performed once the phone is back online.

    If your phone is powered off, Android Device Manager won’t work.

  • Where can I view the files I download on my phone? Open or Close

    You can view, reopen, delete or share most items you download on your phone in the pre-installed Downloads app . Simply touch the app’s icon to view your downloaded files.

    Note that movies and some other content that you download are not displayed in the Downloads app. For example, videos will appear in the Gallery app , and music files will appear in the Play Music app .

  • How do I take a screenshot? Open or Close

    Taking a screenshot is really easy:

    1. Press and hold the Power key located at the top of your phone until an options menu appears on the screen.
    2. Touch “Screenshot”.

    All your screenshots are automatically saved to the “Screenshots” folder in the Gallery app .

  • Can I adjust the volume of a call? Open or Close

    During a call, you can conveniently adjust the volume of the call with the two physical Volume keys located on the right side of the phone. Push the upper Volume key to increase the volume, and the lower key to decrease it.

  • How do I switch to and from Airplane mode? Open or Close

    To enable Airplane mode:

    1. Press and hold the Power key until an options menu appears on the screen.
    2. Touch “Airplane mode”.

     

    To disable Airplane mode:

    1. Press and hold the Power key until an options menu appears on the screen.
    2. Touch “Airplane mode”.
    3. If you have set up a SIM card lock, enter your PIN for the SIM card to unlock it.
  • How do I install a new app on my phone? Open or Close

    You can download new Android apps from Google Play. To access Google Play you use the Google Play Store app that is pre-installed on your phone. Google Play requires that you sign in with your Google Account. If you have not already added your Google Account on the phone, you will be prompted to do this the first time you open the Play Store app.

    Some apps on Google Play are free, and some are paid. Apps that can be downloaded for free have a “FREE“ label. In order to buy paid apps, you will be asked to add a credit card.

  • How do I uninstall an app from my phone? Open or Close

    If you no longer need an app that you’ve downloaded from Google Play, you can easily uninstall it. If the app was purchased, you can always re-install it later.

    There are several ways to uninstall an app.

    Uninstall an app from the All Apps screen:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Lumigon logo in the Dock to open the All Apps screen.
    2. Touch and hold an app that you want to uninstall.
    3. Without lifting your finger, slide the app towards the “Uninstall” icon at the top of the screen.
    4. To confirm, touch “OK” in the dialogue that opens.

     

    Uninstall an app from the settings:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the “Device” section, touch “Apps”.
    4. To switch between the “Downloaded”, “Running” and “All” tabs, swipe your finger left and right across the screen.
    5. Find the app you want to uninstall, and touch its icon.
    6. Touch “Uninstall”.
    7. To confirm, touch “OK” in the dialogue that opens.

    Please note that system apps cannot be uninstalled.

  • How do I update the phone? Open or Close

    Your Lumigon phone has a built-in updater feature that allows you to easily check for the newest firmware updates that are distributed over the air. Such updates may contain various fixes and new features for your phone. Whenever a new update is available, you will receive a notification in the Status bar. Then you’ll be able to download and install the update. You can also check for updates manually.

     

    To check for updates manually:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System update”.
    3. Touch “Check now”.

    If there is a new update available, you will be prompted to download it. Touch “Download” to start downloading.

    We recommend that you connect to a Wi-Fi connection and keep the phone plugged into the charger during the update. To install an update, your phone needs to have at least 30% battery life.

  • How do I restore previously backed up data? Open or Close

    Android Backup Service allows you to back up data like Google Calendar settings, Wi-Fi networks & passwords, Home screen wallpapers, Gmail settings, display settings (brightness & sleep), language & input settings, some third-party app settings & data, etc. using your Google Account. This way, if you need to factory reset your phone or switch to a new one, you can restore such data. To do this, you will need to sign in with the Google Account that you used to back up your data and tick off “Restore from my Google Account to this phone” during the first setup of your phone.

    Please note that the types of data mentioned above can only be restored during the first setup, whereas you can restore and access your Google contacts, e-mail from Gmail, Google calendar events, photos and videos that you have backed up to your Google+ account, etc. anytime if you simply sign in with your Google Account on your phone.

  • How do I reboot my phone? Open or Close

    Press and hold the Power key for 10-20 seconds until the phone shuts down. The phone will restart itself.

  • How do I get my e-mail on my T2 HD? Open or Close

    To be able to receive and send e-mail messages on your phone you will need to add your e-mail account in the app that works with the your type of account.

    If you have Gmail, use the Gmail app . If you signed in with your Google Account during the first setup of your phone, your e-mail from Gmail will automatically appear in the Gmail app. Otherwise, you will be prompted to sign in the first time you open the Gmail app. If, for some reason, your Gmail does not sync, check your Google Account’s sync settings:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the “Accounts” section, touch “Google”.
    4. Touch the name of your account (e-mail address).
    5. In the “Sync” screen, make sure “Gmail” is ticked off.

     

    To add e-mail accounts other than Gmail, use the pre-installed Email app . Touch the app to open it and follow the onscreen instructions to add your e-mail account. To check sync settings of the Email app:

    1. Touch the Email app icon to open it.
    2. Touch the “Overflow” icon in the top right corner.
    3. Touch “Settings”.
    4. Touch the name of your account.
    5. In the “Data usage” section, make sure that “Sync Email” is ticked off.
    6. Touch “Sync frequency” to select how often the app checks for new e-mail.
    7. Touch “Days to sync” to select how many days’ e-mail is displayed in the app.
  • Can I reinstall an app I previously purchased without purchasing it again? Open or Close

    Yes. When you download a paid or free app on Google Play, the app is connected to your Google Account. This way, if you get a new device, remove an app to free up space, or reset your device, you can reinstall the app without purchasing it again, provided that you sign in with the same Google Account. Also, if you have multiple devices, you can install the app on all of your devices without purchasing the app again.

     

    To quickly find and download your previously downloaded apps:

    1. Open the Google Play Store app .
    2. Touch the Navigation Drawer icon in the top left corner.
    3. Touch “My Apps”.
    4. Touch the “All” tab.
    5. Select an app you’d like to install.
    6. Touch the “Install” button.
  • How can I monitor my data usage on the phone? Open or Close

    Data usage settings allow you to track your data usage, set a data usage warning and a data usage limit. You can also restrict data usage by app. Depending on your subscription, setting a data usage limit can help you prevent additional charges for mobile data.

     

    To access data usage settings:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the “Wireless & networks” section, touch “Data usage”.
  • How do I change the language on my phone? Open or Close
    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. Under “Personal”, touch “Language & input”.
    4. Touch “Language”.
    5. To select a language, touch it.
  • How do I remove an app from my Home screen or the Dock? Open or Close
    1. Touch and hold the app you want to remove.
    2. Without lifting your finger, drag the app toward the top of the screen towards the “Remove” icon until the icon turns red.
    3. Lift your finger to drop the item over the “Remove” icon .

    Note that when you remove apps in this manner, you are actually removing their shortcuts from the Home screen or the Dock. The apps themselves do not get uninstalled and will still appear on the All Apps screen.

  • How do I place a new app on my Home screen? Open or Close
    1. On the All Apps screen, find the app that you want to place on a Home screen.
    2. Touch and hold the app’s icon.
    3. When the Home screen appears, lift your finger to drop the app.

    To move an app to a new position on a Home screen, simply touch and hold the app and drag it to a new position.

  • How do I switch between the cameras on the front and back of the phone when taking pictures or recording videos? Open or Close
    1. In the Camera app, touch the white circle next to the onscreen camera key.
    2. Touch the “Switch camera” icon to switch between the cameras on the front and back of the phone.

     

    Alternatively, you can also use the ActionKey located right above the touchscreen - simply press and hold the ActionKey to switch between the cameras. Please note that this requires that the ActionKey is enabled.

    To check whether the ActionKey is on:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the “Device” section, make sure that the ON/OFF slider next to “ActionKey” is in its “ON” position.
  • How do I transfer files between my phone and computer? Open or Close

    You can transfer music, photos, movies and other files between your smartphone and a Windows or a Mac computer by connecting them with the USB cable that came with your phone. This connection uses the MTP protocol, which is supported by most recent versions of Windows but not Mac OS X. Therefore, if you are using a Mac computer, you will need to install the free Android File Transfer application from www.android.com/filetransfer on your Mac first.

     

    To connect to a Windows computer:

    1. Connect your phone to your computer via the USB cable that came with your phone. The phone’s USB storage is mounted as a drive and appears on your computer screen.
    2. Copy files back and forth as you would using any other external device.
    3. When you are finished, simply disconnect the phone by unplugging the USB cable.

     

    To connect to a Mac computer:

    1. On your Mac computer, go to www.android.com/filetransfer to download and install Android File Transfer.
    2. Connect your phone to your Mac computer via the USB cable that came with your phone.
    3. If you are using Android File Transfer for the first time, double-click it to open it. After that it will open automatically whenever you connect your phone to your computer via USB.
    4. Android File Transfer opens a new window that displays the contents of your phone. Work with this window as if it were a Finder window - open and close folders, create new folders, drag files to or from it and other Finder windows, etc.
    5. When you are finished, unplug the USB cable.
  • How do I turn data roaming on and off? Open or Close

    Data roaming gives you access to data when you are outside of your network operator’s area, e.g. when you are going abroad. As data roaming usually is expensive, you may want to turn off data roaming when traveling and instead use Wi-Fi networks where possible.

     

    To turn data roaming on or off:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the “Wireless & networks” section, touch “More...”.
    4. Touch “Mobile networks”.
    5. To turn data roaming on, tick off “Data roaming”. To turn it off, remove the check mark by touching it.
  • How can I back up my photos and videos? Open or Close

    You can have all your photos and videos backed up automatically by enabling the Auto-Backup feature in the Photos app :

    1. Touch the Photos app to open it.
    2. Touch the Menu key (=) in the bottom left corner or, alternatively, the “Overflow” icon in the top right corner.
    3. Touch “Settings”.
    4. Touch “Auto-Backup”.
    5. Drag the ON/OFF slider at the top to the “ON” position.

    When Auto-Backup is enabled, all your photos and videos get backed up automatically to your Google+ Account. This way, you can view and manage them from any device or computer anytime and anywhere by simply logging into your Google+ Account.

  • How do I connect to a Wi-Fi network? Open or Close

    To connect to a Wi-Fi network on your phone, you will need to turn on Wi-Fi on your phone first and then connect to an available network.

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the “Wireless & networks” section, touch “Wi-Fi”.
    4. Slide the Wi-Fi switch in the top right corner to the “ON” position. The phone starts scanning for Wi-Fi networks within range and displays the detected networks.
    5. Touch the name of the network you want to connect to.
    6. Touch “Connect”.
    7. If required, enter the network’s security details to connect (ask the network’s administrator for details).

     

    TIP: The fastest way to turn Wi-Fi on and off is by using the Wi-Fi shortcut from the Notifications panel:

    1. Drag the Status bar down to open it.
    2. Touch the Wi-Fi icon to turn Wi-Fi on. When Wi-Fi is on, the line under the icon turns blue and a Wi-Fi icon is displayed in the Status bar.
    3. To turn Wi-Fi off, open the Status bar and touch the Wi-Fi icon again.
  • Can I share my phone’s Internet connection with another device? Open or Close

    Yes, if your subscription includes data, you can turn your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot and share your Internet connection with up to eight other devices, e.g. a tablet, a computer or another phone.

     

    To start sharing your data connection:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. Under “Wireless & networks”, touch “More…”.
    4. Touch “Tethering & portable hotspot”.
    5. Tick off “Portable Wi-Fi hotspot”. The phone will start broadcasting its Wi-Fi network name (SSID).
    6. From your computer or other device, find and join your phone’s network.
  • Does T2 HD have a removable battery? Open or Close

    No, T2 HD does not have a removable battery. Any battery replacement should be done by a Lumigon-authorized technician. For service and repairs inquiries, please contact our customer service at support@lumigon.com.

  • Does T2 HD have a notification light? Open or Close

    Yes, T2 HD is equipped with an LED light both on the front and back of the phone that can be used as a notification light. You can enable and disable the notification light whenever you want. And you can also switch between two different types of notification light - breath and blink.

     

    To enable or disable the notification light:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. Under “Device”, touch “T2 HD settings”.
    4. Tick off “Enable notification light” to enable it, or remove the check mark to disable it.
    5. To change the type of notification light, touch the “Notification light type” field and select either “Breath” or “Blink” by touching it.
  • How do I set up a screen lock for my phone? Open or Close

    Setting up a screen lock helps you secure your phone and protect it from unauthorized access. When enabled, the screen lock will be required to unlock the phone every time it is turned on and when it wakes up from Sleep mode. There are several types of screen lock that have different degrees of security, e.g. slide, face unlock, pattern, PIN, and password.

     

    To set up a screen lock:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the “Personal” section, touch “Security”.
    4. In the “Screen security” section, touch “Screen lock”.
    5. Select the desired screen lock.
    6. Follow the onscreen instructions to set up your screen lock.
  • How do I set up or change the SIM card lock? Open or Close

    To set up a SIM card lock:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the section “Personal”, touch “Security”.
    4. In the “SIM card lock” section, touch “Set up SIM card lock”.
    5. Touch “Lock SIM card”.
    6. Enter your PIN, and touch “OK”.

     

    To change your SIM card lock:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the section “Personal”, touch “Security”.
    4. In the “SIM card lock” section, touch “Set up SIM card lock”.
    5. Touch “Change SIM PIN”, and follow the onscreen instructions.
  • How do I add or remove an account on my phone? Open or Close

    You can add multiple Google and other types of accounts on your phone.

     

    To add a Google or Email account:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the section “Accounts”, touch “+ Add account”.
    4. Select the type of account and follow the onscreen instructions to complete adding your account.

    To add accounts like Facebook, Skype, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc., you will need to download a corresponding app from Google Play Store first.

  • How do I backup my data on the phone? Open or Close

    Your phone has a built-in Android Backup Service that allows you to back up settings and other data associated with one or more of your Google Accounts, such as Google Calendar settings, Wi-Fi networks & passwords, Home screen wallpapers, Gmail settings, display settings (brightness & sleep), language & input settings, some third-party app data, etc.

    When you sign in to your Google Account during the first setup of your phone, you are asked whether you want to use the account for backing up your data. If you skipped this option during the setup, you can always add a Google Account for backing up your data later.

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. Under “Personal”, touch “Backup & reset”.
    4. Touch “Backup account” and follow the onscreen instructions.

    For your Gmail, your Google contacts, calendar events and other data associated with your Google Account to get backed up to your Google Account automatically, you need to make sure that synchronization of your Google Account data is enabled.

    Please note that the Android Backup Service described above does NOT make a backup of your photos, videos, music and other files. For automatic backup of your photos and videos, use the “Auto-backup” feature in the Photos app that will back them up to your Google+ Account. As for document files and folders, you can upload them to Google Drive. The Drive app can be downloaded from Google Play Store .

  • How do I check how much storage is available on my phone? Open or Close

    You can monitor your phone’s internal storage by doing the following:

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the “Device“ section, touch “Storage”.
  • Can I change the duration of snooze for my alarm clock? Open or Close

    Yes, you can. And here is how:

    1. Open the Clock app .
    2. Touch the “Overflow” icon in the bottom right corner.
    3. Touch “Settings”.
    4. Touch “Snooze length”.
    5. Set the desired snooze length and touch “OK”.
  • Can I change for how long the screen stays on before it turns off and locks? Open or Close

    Yes, you can change the duration of the sleep timeout.

    1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key (=).
    2. Touch “System settings”.
    3. In the “Device“ section, touch “Display“.
    4. Touch “Sleep“.
    5. Touch the desired sleep timeout to select it.
