Advanced Wi-Fi settings

You can change various settings for Wi-Fi, e.g. notifications about detected Wi-Fi networks in the Status bar, disconnect policy, etc. in the advanced Wi-Fi settings.

Access advanced Wi-Fi settings

  1. If Wi-Fi is not already ON, turn Wi-Fi ON as described above.
  2. In the "Wi-Fi" screen, touch the Menu key.
  3. Touch "Advanced".

Configure proxy settings for a Wi-Fi network

Some network administrators require you to connect to internal or external network resources via a proxy server. By default, the Wi-Fi networks you add are not configured to connect via a proxy, but you can change that for each Wi-Fi network you have added.

  1. If Wi-Fi is not already ON, turn Wi-Fi ON as described above.
  2. In the "Wi-Fi" screen, touch & hold a network ‘s name.
  3. Touch "Modify network".
  4. Tick off the "Show advanced options" box.
  5. Under "Proxy settings" touch "None", and select "Manual" in the menu that opens.
  6. Enter the proxy settings (ask the network's administrator for details).
  7. Touch "Save".

The proxy settings apply only to the Wi-Fi network you've modified. To change the proxy settings for other Wi-Fi networks, you will need to modify them individually.
