Unpairing, renaming and managing visibility

Unpair a Bluetooth device

Once your phone is paired with a device, the two will stay paired unless you unpair them.

To unpair a Bluetooth device:

  1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key.
  2. Touch "System settings".
  3. Under "Wireless & networks", touch "Bluetooth".
  4. Slide the Bluetooth switch to its ON position.
  5. Under "Paired devices", find the device you want to unpair, and touch the Settings icon beside it.
  6. Touch "Unpair".

Manage visibility timeout

You can change for how long your phone stays visible for other Bluetooth devices.

  1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key.
  2. Touch "System settings".
  3. Under "Wireless & networks", touch "Bluetooth".
  4. Slide the Bluetooth switch to its ON position.
  5. In the "Bluetooth" screen, touch the Menu key.
  6. Touch "Visibility timeout".
  7. Touch the desired option.

Change your phone's Bluetooth name

By default, your phone has a generic Bluetooth name that is visible to other Bluetooth devices when you connect them. You can change your phone's Bluetooth name to make it more recognizable.

  1. On a Home screen, touch the Menu key.
  2. Touch "System settings".
  3. Under "Wireless & networks", touch "Bluetooth".
  4. Slide the Bluetooth switch to its ON position.
  5. In the "Bluetooth" screen, touch the Menu key.
  6. Touch "Rename phone".
  7. Enter the new name.
  8. Touch "Rename".
